Nicole Spezia
Nicole earned her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2008. In the spring of 2009, she began practicing law at The Kaudy Law Firm.
Before serving as an attorney at The Kaudy Law Firm, Nicole volunteered at the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado where she participated in a project concerning demonstrations during the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver. She also worked as a law clerk for the Denver law firm Leventhal, Brown & Puga, P.C.
Raised in Colorado, Nicole has an appreciation for the outdoors. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, sailing, and photography.
Education
Nicole received her law degree from the University of Denver in 2008. She focused her studies in law school on litigation and civil rights. She earned an Academic Achievement Award in Trial Practice and participated in various moot court competitions as both a competitor and a judge.
After her first year of law school, Nicole interned for Judge Robert McGahey, Jr. in the criminal division of the Denver District Court, where she drafted court orders and observed numerous hearings and trials.
While earning her law degree, Nicole studied abroad at the University of Sydney Law School in Sydney, Australia. She studied Australia’s legal history, court procedures, and Aboriginal rights.
Nicole was a student attorney in the Civil Litigation Clinic during her final year of law school. She represented indigent clients in landlord-tenant disputes. As part of her public service project at the Clinic, Nicole took part in efforts to pass warranty of habitability legislation in Colorado.
In 2005, Nicole graduated magna cum laude from Boston University, earning her undergraduate degree in Journalism. While attending Boston University, Nicole wrote freelance articles for The Daily Free Press and was an intern at SAIL Magazine.
